Where do our conflicts really begin? In James 4:1–12, James points beyond our circumstances and into our hearts, exposing how unchecked desires can turn into demands for our own way. When our wants become more important than God's will, conflict follows—with others, with ourselves, and ultimately with God. Yet James doesn't leave us without hope. He calls us to humble ourselves, resist the pull of worldly passions, and surrender our desires to Him. Desires begin in our hearts, but humility opens the door to God's will.
