Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God. But right after, He added a massive "P.S.": “And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
It might come second in the order, and it is last in the command but definitely not least.
In fact, Jesus makes it clear that we cannot truly say we love God if we aren't actively loving the people right in front of us. In a world deeply divided by political, social, and cultural lines, loving our neighbor as ourselves isn't just a nice suggestion—it’s a counter-cultural command.
In this sermon, "Last But Not Least," we dive into Matthew 22:36-40 to look at the second half of the Greatest Commandment. Who is our "neighbor"? What does it mean to love them practically, even when it's costly or inconvenient? Join us as we discover how a vertical love for God must always overflow into a horizontal love for people.
